Special Notice About Zoning

The Town of Tainter is zoned under Dunn County's Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance.  On October 16, 2013 the County Board of Supervisors enacted Ordinance 2013-59, Dunn County Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance which replaces the current zoning ordinance that has been in effect since January 28, 1993.  The Town of Tainter is working to comply with new zoning ordinance requirements by converting current zoning districts into the closest matching compatible districts under the new ordinance.  This conversion to the closest matching district may not result in the most desireable district for some land owners, especially certain agricultural district land owners.  We encourage Tainter land owners to review the new Dunn County Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance districts and attend Town public hearings ensure that the new proposed zoning for their land meet their needs.

Town of Tainter land owners are welcome to attend Town of Tainter Plan Commission meeting(s) to provide input on zoning. The Plan Commission meets at 7 pm and meeting days are shown on the evenet calendar. Tentative schedule to hear zoning inputs are Feb, March, April and May meetings. Then Plan Commission forward recommendation to Town Board. After Town Board approves Dunn County comprehensive revisions then new ordinance rules apply. We hope to have zoning complete by July 2014 and the deadline for Town compliance is October 2014.

The Dunn County Planner/Zoning Administrator is Bob Colson, (715) 231-6520. Dunn County Website: www.co.dunn.wi.us.
