Notices / Announcements

Seasonal weight restrictions are in effect on posted roads in the Town of Tainter effective Thursday, March 5, 2026. These restrictions will be lifted as soon as the weather allows. Please contact the office if you have additional questions.

  • Taxes will now need to be made to the DUNN COUNTY TREASURER since it is after January 31, 2026 first installment deadline.
  • NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS: The first half of real estate taxes are due by January 31, 2026 and shall be paid to the Town of Tainter Treasurer, N8150 CTH DG, Colfax, WI 54730. FUTURE DATED CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

  • Open Book – The town assessor, Ron Meyer, will hold open book at the Tainter town hall on Thursday, May 21, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. If you have any questions on your property assessment, this is an opportunity to talk directly to the assessor about your questions.
  • Board of Review –The Board of Review will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at the Tainter town hall from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Appointments are required. Please call the town office at 715-235-3165 if any questions or to schedule an appointment.
  • Burning Permits – Burning permits are required and can be obtained by clicking here.

Non-Tax Payments

Payments for Town of Tainter fees (other than taxes) can now be made using a credit card. A convenience fee of 2.95% for credit and debit cards is charged by our provider with a minimum card fee of $3.95. Application forms are still required to be completed and submitted to the Town of Tainter.

Solid Waste & Recycling

Tainter resident may use either the Colfax or Elk Mound collection sites offered through the Colfax Solid Waste and Recycling program for waste disposal. Click on the Solid Waste & Recycling Management Flyer below for more information.
